Most of the interview is about her father, Oscar Rolnick, who was a peddlar in Bangor, Maine, area (originally from Russia and Poland). Collection includes cassette tape of interview with Bella Cowan, manuscript notes of interview, article about Bella Cowan, notes taken by Joyce Butler from lecture by Rabbi Harry Z. Sky of "The Portland Jewish Community: a Look at Its Early Days" (lecture given at the Portland Public Library in conjunction with the Maine Historical Society), article about Portland's Jewish heritage, and an article about Jewish history in Boston
