Thank you to Kenny Nelson for the article

Note:
"Here is the letter Mel wrote me as he knew that the Nelsons moved to Rumford (Arthur and Freada with children Harold , Florine and Donald) and Freada around 1927 and helped start by traveling around Maine to Jewish communities to raise money, the only synagogue in town, Temple Israel out of a one room school house. My parents, Harold and Millie (married in 1934) left Rumford with one year old Lenny for Portland and the rest of the family first went to Lewiston. Mel Stone’s letter picks up the story of how the synagogue finally closed with only three or four Jewish families and how the proceeds got to the Jewish Home for the Aged. " Kenny Nelson
