BANGOR --Mrs. Sylvia M. Mintz,68, died Nov. 5, 1979, at a local hospital following a long illness. She was born in Bangor, Oct. 7, 1911, daughter of Morris and Mollie (Goldsmith) Goodkowsky. She was a member of Congregation Beth Abraham, the Sisterhood of the Congregation, Hadassah, and B'nai B'rith. Surviving, in addition to her husband, Joseph Mintz of Bangor, are two nieces, Mrs. Vicki Spearing of Dover-Foxcroft, Mrs. Paula Hennessy of Biddeford; two nephews, Milton Goodkowsky of Springfield, Mass., Carl Goodkowsky of Addison, one aunt, Mrs. Ann Rosen of Bangor; two uncles, Harry Goldsmith of Old Town, Keith Goldsmith of Naples, Fla. Funeral services will be held Tuesday,3:30 p.m., at the Jewish Funeral Chapel, Center Street, with Rabbi Henry Isaacs officiating, Burial will be held at Beth Abraham Cemetery, Bangor. Memorial week will be observed at the family residence, 28 Prentiss St., Bangor. Arrangements by Brookings-Smith.
