AVIS ZITANER -- OBITUARY

 
BANGOR – Avis Zitaner Leeof 342 Pearl St., died Jan. 26, 1985, at a local hospital. She was born in Framingham, Mass. Feb. 22, 1918, the daughter of Harry and Irene Hill. She was a pianist for 18 years at the Bangor House and also played and entertained at many local functions. She was a member of the Beth Abraham Synagogue, B’nai B’rith and the Hadassah. Surviving besides her husband, Roland Lee of Bangor, are four daughters, Doris S. Zitaner and Iris J. Zitaner, both of Boston, Mass., Janet (Zitaner) Cordeiro and Gaile E. Zitaner, both of Bangor; two sons, George Zitaner and Mark Zitaner, both of Orrington; two brothers, Robert Hill of Sharon, Mass. and Richard Hill of Natick, Mass.; one granddaughter, Andria Faith Zitaner; several nieces, nephews and cousins; stepchildren, Micahel R. Lee of Carmet, Daivid A. Lee and Patti J. Lee, both of Bangor. She was predeceased by her first husband, Jacob Benjamin Zitaner. Funeral services were held 3 pm Sunday at the Jewish Funeral Chapel, Center Street, Bangor, with Rabbi Joseph Schonberger officiating. Interment was in Beth Abraham Cemetery. Friends may contribute in her memory to the building fund of Beth Abraham synagogue, in care of Dr. Howard Berg, 67 Poplar St., Bangor. Memorial week will be observed at 342 Pearl St., Bangor.
