Note: Marilyn Isaacson Simonds, a lifelong resident of Lewiston-Auburn and an active member of the local Jewish community, was one of four people chosen from around the country to receive the prestigious National Child Labor Committee’s Lewis Hine award for her decades of volunteer work with children, disabled adults and immigrants. Over her lifetime, she contributed her energy, time and skills to the creation and growth of many L-A social service organizations, including Head Start, Pathways, Inc., Book Reach and the Adult Learning Center.
