Note: Goldie Isaacson belonged to the National Federation of Republican Women and Androscoggin County Women�s Republican Club. Republican Party membership was common for Lewiston-Auburn Jews of Goldie's generation. It was not until the 1950s, when Gov. Edmund Muskie strengthened Maine's, and especially Androscoggin County's, Democratic Party, that more L-A Jews became Democratic Party activists.
