121 items in this collection is composed of charitable donation receipts with personal notes attached. The receipts are from Yeshivot or Talmudic Seminaries in Eretz Israel. They are decorative, standardized forms with the name of the donor as well as signatures of the representatives of the institution written in Rabbinic Hebrew. Other personal notes in Yiddish attached reflect that emissaries from the Yeshivot had visited the donor in Portland and established a friendship. Includes envelope post-marked Jerusalem, 1923, addressed to Mr. M. Rubinsky at 9-13 Plum Street, Portland, Maine.
