EDWARD VINER -- OBITUARY

 
Edward A. Viner, 55, president of the Edward A. Viner and Company Inc., and investment firm, died Wednesday in Redbank, N.J., following a short illness. Mr. Viner was born in Kratzentov, Russia, but came to Bangor at the age of two with his parents. The son of Mrs. Bitel Viner of Bangor, and the late Harry Viner, Mr. Viner was graduated from Bangor High School and attended the University of Maine. He was graduated from Harvard University in 1920, where he received his B.A. Degree. He also received his Master’s degree in economics from Harvard. Mr. Viner also studied in France and Germany. At the time of his death he had completed work for his doctorate and had just finished a book dealing with international affairs. Mr. Viner held seats on the New York Stock Exchange and the New York Club. Among other organizations he was a member of the Harvard Club of New York. Besides his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Viner, he is survived by a daughter, Miss Beatrice Viner, by a son, David E. Viner, all of Middletown N.J.; by his mother, Mrs. Viner of Bangor; and by five brothers, James J. Viner, William C. Viner, Leo Viner, Samuel Viner, and Benjamin Viner, all of Bangor.
