Samuel Gass, 73, of Hollywood, Fla. and formerly of Bangor, died Oct. 27 in a Miami, Fla., hospital after a short illness. He founded the Penobscot Auto Co., in Orono in 1925 and also owned and operated the Gass Fur Co., in Bangor for many years. Surviving are his widow, Mena (Gass) Gass of Hollywood, Fla., one son, Stanford of Chicago; three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Fohrman of Chicago, Mrs. Sally Saltzman of Wilmington, Del., and Mrs. Marcia Shafmaster of Miami Beach, Fla.; and nine grandchildren. | |
