Gregarious, intelligent and athletic, Harris Isaacson spoke Yiddish at home with his immigrant parents but assimilated quickly into American life through school, sports and military service. He attended public schools in Auburn and Lewiston, Hebron Academy, a Baptist-affiliated prep school, Bates, a Baptist-affiliated college, and law school at Georgetown University, a Catholic Jesuit institution
