Bangor-Bennie J. Striar, 92, of 14 Adams ST., died unexpectedly, Dec. 27, 1981, at a local hospital. He was born in Russia, July 7, 1889, the son of Eli and Sarah Striar. He was a well known area cattle dealer and a member of the Congregation Beth Abraham. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Stephen (Sara) Rosenthal of Scranton, Ps.; four sons, Abraham Striar, Louis Striar, David P. Striar, and Dr. Ronald R. Striar, M.D., all of Bangor; seven grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, at the Jewish Funeral Chapel, Center St., with Rabbi Henry Isaacs officiating. Interment will be in the Beth Abraham Cemetery. Memorial week will be observed at the family residence, 14 Adams St. Friends who wish may contribute in his memory to a charity of their choice. Arrangements by Brookings-Smith.
