LOUIS STRIAR -- OBITUARY

 
Bangor – Louis Striar, 73, of 16 Maple St., Bangor, died April 22, 1980, unexpectedly at a local hospital. He was born in Bangor Aug. 9, 1906, son of David and Sarah (Kaplan) Striar. He was a graduate of Bangor High School in the class of 1925 where he was a member of the Beta Phi Alpha Fraternity. He was the owner of the former Striar Brothers Plumbing Firm on Pickering Square for many years. At the time of his death, he was employed by Magazines Inc. He was a member of Congregation Beth Abraham and treasurer for 30 years. He was a member of Chevra Kadisha Committee and treasurer of that committee for 30 years. Surviving are his wife, Jean (Harris) Striar of Bangor; a daughter, Mrs. Bernard (Shelia) Kaye, a grandson Albert Kaye, a granddaughter Michele Kaye, all of the Staten Island, N.Y.; a brother, Philip Striar and a sister, Mrs. Jack (Bessie) Wald, both of Bangor; several nieces and nephews.
